[Paul] Jasmin helped define the visual language of Los Angeles, staging moments of youth and intimacy against the soft glow of the city’s ambient warmth
Jasmin had a long career as a fashion and art photographer. He was born in Helena, Montana, and in 1954 left to begin a journey that would take him to Paris, Morocco, New York and, eventually, ‘the city of dreams’. He turned to photography in the 1970s, encouraged by his friend Bruce Weber. His work distills a precise and evocative vision of beauty
